The Roseleigh Guest House is well situated in the heart of Buxton amongst the hills of the Peak District National Park.

The The Devonshire Family originally owned the land that the Roseleigh was built on in 1870.
The Roseleigh lies on a quiet pedestrian walk and overlooks the lake set in the 23 acre Pavilion Gardens.

The Pavilion Gardens were designed by Joseph Paxton (chief gardener to the Duke of Devonshire at nearby Chatsworth House and designer of the Crystal Palace Great Exhibition 1851 ) in the late 19th century.
There are amenities for all ages in the Gardens, including a spa water swimming pool – Buxton Swimming Pool. Also nearby is New Bodies Gym which have in addition daily exercise classes.
Within a five minute walk is the impressive architecture of the Buxton Georgian Crescent , built in the 1780s and one of the highlights of the centre of Buxton – it is one of the finest Georgian buildings in the country. Close by is the Buxton Opera House, built by Frank Matcham in 1903. It is one of the most beautiful Opera houses in the world and has marvellous acoustics. History of Buxton Opera House
The Buxton Opera House hosts the annual Buxton International Festival and the annual International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival as well as many other theatrical productions.
Whilst across the road from the Buxton Opera House – the great Devonshire Dome is truly one of the most dramatic spaces in Europe. Built in 1779 by the 5th Duke of Devonshire, the Dome dominates the skyline of Buxton in the centre of the spectacular Peak District.
